Taking Southern Utah’s renewable energy growth to new levels

Renewable energy has been a major source of economic and environmental growth in Southern Utah in recent years due to the sunny, wind-infused valleys of the area. However, will this market trend continue? Watson Engineering expects the answer to this question to be a resounding yes.

Southern Utah’s natural environment and regulatory processes are very favorable for renewable energy production. This, combined with its cost competitiveness and the inclination toward social responsibility, should result in continued market trends toward increased renewable energy. In fact, we think the need for alternative energy sources will quickly skyrocket.

So, what does the renewable energy market growth look like in 2021 and beyond? Watson Engineering anticipates a fairly immediate need for more solar and wind energy facilities, including solar plus storage. Jeff Troop, Senior Project Manager of McCarthy Building Companies agrees, “The biggest growth in renewable energy will be the implementation of battery storage combined with renewable solar and wind energy. It provides a better opportunity for renewable energy replacement of traditional carbon energy projects.” Tony Archibald adds, “Southern Utah will quickly become saturated without a more robust transmission infrastructure to take the power to end users.”

We are proud to be a contributor to these valuable conservancy projects and play a role in utilizing environmental forces to provide far-reaching effects for both our local community and global habitat. National and international companies and contractors select Watson Engineering because of our first-rate reputation and expertise in the renewable energy field. Our renewable energy services include civil design and layout, permitting and approval, construction staking, survey and layout, topography, materials testing, and special inspections. We are excited to have a footprint in these ongoing renewable energy project trends. And like most of America, we are ready to put 2020 behind us. We’ve set our sights on taking Southern Utah’s renewable energy growth to brand new levels!
