Design Drafter / CAD Technician
Watson Engineering, a civil, structural, geotechnical engineering and surveying firm located in Cedar City, UT, is looking for a Design Drafter / CAD Technician. Watson is a full-service engineering firm that works in multiple sectors: residential, commercial, land survey, and land development projects.
We’re looking for a drafter/designer interested in building and maintaining the trust of our clients through positive communication and creating detailed, excellent drawings. We need a person that is self-motivated, ready to work hard, and can contribute ideas to create an ever-improving experience for our clients. This is not a position where the phone rings and you simply draw. Some projects are years in the making; others begin with just a sketch on a napkin; if you like seeing great ideas & concepts take physical shape with the help of your knowledge & passion, then sharpen that resume and apply! Responsibilities
Generate complete and accurate drawings for civil and structural projects (subdivisions, site grading plans, survey knowledge, etc).
Incorporate feedback from engineers, builders, surveyors, and homeowners.
Help manage projects from start to finish, stay proactive throughout the project, and meet deadlines.
Qualifications
We are looking for an experienced drafter with industry knowledge, but we are also open to someone eager to gain more experience in the industry.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D
Know how to create surface models, grading, topography, and profiles.
Loves working the details into the design
Communicates well with both clients and team
Likes to be part of a team.
A growth mindset likes to continue learning
Understanding of (or desire to learn) current building codes and standards, and applying them to projects
