Sports Academy

The Southern Utah Sports Academy offers recreational and athletic training in a 12,000-square-foot facility. The venue offers basketball, volleyball, pickleball, athletic training, futsal, and dance spaces.

Watson Engineering provided civil and structural design for the masonry foundation of the pre-engineering steel building system. The team was met with a particular design challenge when it was determined that the building would need to be taller to accommodate the room needed to play basketball. Rather than order a taller, more costly building, Watson designed an elevated building foundation that extended 8-10 feet above the floor.

Watson Engineering provided Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Construction Staking and Materials Testing.
