Meet the Team: Trent Baugh

Trent Baugh first learned of Watson Engineering Company when he reached out to firm president Tim Watson about speaking to the Architecture/Civil Design Club members at Southern Utah University. After his presentation, Tim asked Trent if he was working and then gave him a drafting assignment. Fast forward a year, Trent is working as an intern at Watson while finishing up the fourth year of his undergraduate program.

A junior design draftsman, Trent works closely with the Architectural and Structural design teams and enjoys using AutoCAD software to design and edit 2D and 3D designs. “I appreciate working with team members who are very knowledgeable,” he shares. “They’re always willing to share tips and ways to help me be more efficient.”

Trent finds Watson’s collaborative work environment incredibly beneficial for clients who share the details and desires for their projects. “We welcome open communication to understand a client’s needs better,” explains Trent. He’s learned the more specific a client is when describing the details and desires of a project, the more likely the results will meet their aspirations. He revels in the design process and has found that every day and every project is unique. “I get a lot of satisfaction in putting our clients’ specific needs and dreams to paper,” states Trent.

When he is not at work or school, Trent enjoys going on hikes and walks with his wife, as well as playing golf. He also serves in the Utah Army National Guard.
