Renewable Energy

Milford Wind Corridor

Milford Wind is the first wind-powered renewable energy project of its kind in Southern Utah. It spans the desert landscapes of Beaver and Millard counties and is located at the north end of the Escalante Valley along its main wind corridor.

Consisting of 97 operating wind turbines with a capacity of 204 megawatts, Milford Wind is the largest operational utility-scale wind farm in Utah. The Milford Wind projects have generated more than 2,650,000 (MWh) of clean, renewable electricity—enough to power approximately 60,000 homes. To generate the same amount of energy with conventional regional generation sources, more than 1.4 million tons of coal would have been used and over 1,780,465 tons of CO2 emissions released.
